Jasmine tea has been produced in China for over 700 years. The scenting process is labour-intensive — fresh jasmine blossoms are harvested in the evening when their fragrance peaks, then layered with the tea leaves overnight. The best jasmine teas are scented multiple times, building layers of floral complexity that no artificial flavouring can replicate.

Brew Guide

• Amount: 1 tsp (2g) per 200ml
• Water temperature: 75–80°C (do not use boiling water — it will damage the delicate floral notes)
• Steep time: 2–3 minutes
• Method: Loose leaf in an infuser or teapot
• Serve: Always black — no milk

Like green tea, Jasmine is sensitive to water temperature. Lower heat and shorter steeping preserve the floral fragrance and prevent bitterness. The leaves can be re-steeped 2–3 times — each infusion reveals a slightly different character.

Is the jasmine flavour natural?

Yes — the fragrance comes entirely from fresh jasmine blossoms layered with the tea leaves during production. No artificial flavouring, no jasmine oil. Just flowers and time.

Does Jasmine tea contain caffeine?

Yes — it has a green tea base, so it contains moderate caffeine (around 20–45mg per cup). Less than black tea or coffee, but enough for a gentle, calm lift.

Can I re-steep the leaves?

Yes — quality jasmine tea can be steeped 2–3 times. The first steep is the most fragrant; subsequent steeps are softer and slightly sweeter.
