Brew Guide

• Amount: 1 tsp (2g) per 200ml
• Water temperature: 75–80°C (do not use boiling water — it will bitter the leaf)
• Steep time: 2–3 minutes
• Method: Loose leaf in an infuser or teapot
• Serve: Black — no milk

Green tea is forgiving but rewards precision. Lower water temperature and shorter steep times keep it sweet and clean. Over-steep and it turns bitter — so set a timer and enjoy the ritual.

We'd recommend against it — milk masks the delicate grassy notes that make green tea special. Drink it black to get the full experience.

How much caffeine does green tea have?

Green tea contains moderate caffeine — roughly 20–45mg per cup, compared to 80–100mg in coffee. Enough for a gentle lift without the intensity.

Can I re-steep green tea leaves?

Yes — quality loose leaf green tea can be steeped 2–3 times. Each infusion reveals a slightly different character. The second steep is often the sweetest.
