Earl Grey is one of the world's most recognised teas — a classic black tea elevated by the addition of bergamot, a fragrant citrus fruit grown primarily in Calabria, southern Italy. The bergamot oil gives it that unmistakable aromatic character that has made it a staple of afternoon tea for nearly two centuries.

Brew Guide

• Amount: 1 tsp (2g) per 200ml
• Water temperature: 100°C
• Steep time: 3–4 minutes
• Method: Loose leaf in an infuser or teapot
• Serve: Black to preserve the bergamot notes, or with a splash of milk for a softer cup

For a lighter, more aromatic cup steep for 3 minutes; for fuller body extend to 4–5 minutes. Avoid over-steeping — it will turn bitter and mask the bergamot.
