How to Enjoy

As a drinking chocolate

• Grate or finely chop 20–25g per 200ml milk
• Heat milk gently to 65–70°C — do not boil
• Whisk until fully melted and smooth
• Serve as is, or with a pinch of sea salt or chilli for depth

As a pairing

• Break a square alongside an espresso or bold filter coffee
• The bitterness of the chocolate and the coffee amplify each other beautifully
• Also pairs well with Darjeeling or Earl Grey for a more delicate contrast

Does dark chocolate contain caffeine?

Yes — dark chocolate contains a small amount of caffeine (around 12mg per 30g square) plus theobromine, a milder stimulant. Enough to add to the ritual, not enough to keep you up.
