Chai has been brewed on the streets and in the homes of India for centuries. A blend of black tea and warming spices — cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, clove — it's a drink with deep cultural roots and an unmistakable character. Ours stays true to that tradition.

Brew Guide

Classic (black)

• Amount: 1–2 tsp (2–3g) per 200ml
• Water temperature: 100°C
• Steep time: 4–5 minutes
• Serve: Black or with a splash of milk and honey

Masala style (with milk)

• Simmer 1–2 tsp in 100ml water for 2 minutes
• Add 100ml milk and simmer for a further 2–3 minutes
• Strain, sweeten with honey or sugar to taste, serve hot

FAQs

Does Chai contain caffeine?

Yes — Chai has a black tea base, so it contains moderate caffeine (around 40–70mg per cup). Less than coffee, but enough for a gentle lift.

Can I make a Chai latte with this?

Absolutely — brew it strong using the masala method above, then froth your milk separately and pour over. Add honey or maple syrup to taste.

Can I drink Chai iced?

Yes — brew double strength, let it cool, pour over ice with cold milk. An iced chai latte is one of the best summer drinks going.
